Position: Chief Pilot – Training and Standards, Nominated Post Holder of Flight Operations
Reports to: Head of Flight Operations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision, organization, manning and efficiency of the training department and its training personnel.
  • The supervision of the implementation and amendment of the company’s Operations Manual part D.
  • Liaison with the regulatory authority and any external agencies on all matters concerning the Training Department.
  • Implementing all required approved training programs for the Operations Department staff.
  • Ensure that the necessary synthetic training, transition and proficiency checks (PPC/LPC/OPC) are organized for the crew.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in the industry with regards to flight crew training syllabi and training techniques to ensure a high standard of flight crew training in coordination with Head of Flight Operations/ Chief Pilot.
  • Regularly review the Training Department’s quality system to ensure its ongoing suitability and effectiveness in meeting quality standards, while maintaining proper records of these reviews.”
  • Ensure implementation of SMS in his/her department with reference to the company Integrated Management System Manual (IMSM).
  • Review and approve the grading, monitor trainee/instructor performance and analyse the data collected.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications.
  • Candidates with a minimum of 3 years of job-related Management experience does not need to fulfill the above qualification subject to Senior Management approval.
  • Has acquired not less than 7 years command experience on large/medium turbine powered aircraft and hold a CAASL, ICAO or FAA approved ATPL License and ratings required by Air Ceilao.   
  • Minimum 8,000 hours total flight time on Multi-Crew, Multi-Engine and Commercial Airline experience on a jet with MTOW of 50,000 kg or higher.
  • Minimum of 4000 hours as Pilot In-Command on A320 family aircraft.
  • 3 years’ experience as an Examiner (TRE).
  • 1000 hours of FSTD training or 1000 hours of LIFUS/IOE experience.
  • Completed a flight on the A320 family within the last 12 months.
  • Class one medical without any restrictions.
  • ICAO English level 5 or above.
