Position: Chief Pilot, Nominated Post Holder of Flight Operations
Reports to: Head of Flight Operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the safety, security and regulatory compliance of all flight operations activities, operations planning, specific approvals and all contracted activities.
- Ensuring sufficient resources are allocated to the flight operations and raising any issues to the Head of Flight Operations.
- Creating policy which enables Air Ceilao to conduct safe flight operations under the provisions of its AOC.
- Ensuring the airline has sufficient pilots to support the operation.
- Ensuring that all personnel and activities comply with the Safety Management System procedures & processes and that they are aware of operational risks and take action to accept or reject according to the risk tolerability matrix.
- Ensuring timely and adequate closure of non-compliances.
- Providing oversight of the activities performed by Air Ceilao Flight Crew ensuring that all training activities are planned in compliance with the FTL and other relevant regulations and that the required number of flight crew enables the aircraft to fly the commercial schedule in a productive and cost-efficient manner.
- In conjunction with Manager Flight Operations ensure safe, compliant, and secure day-to day operations including on-time performance, project management and a positive collaboration with Air Ceilao subsidiaries, defining joint policies and procedures.
- Ensuring safe flight operations through the establishment of flight operational policies, standards and procedures based on the information received from Airbus.
- Liaison with the Head of Corporate Safety & Security, Manager Security and Head of Cooperate Quality on safety, security and compliance matters including FDA.
- Assess the future potential risk through an active review of future demands in line with projected operational growth, and proactively identify suitable resources, technologies, systems, or processes to mitigate risk.
- Participating in the Safety Action Board, weekly Flight Operations meeting, Recruitment Committee, Operation and Procedures group meetings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications.
- Candidates with a minimum of 3 years of job-related Management experience does not need to full fill the above qualification subject to senior management approval.
- Has acquired not less than 10 years command experience to large/medium turbine powered aircraft and hold a CAASL, ICAO or FAA approved ATPL License and ratings for one of the aircrafts operated by Air Ceilao.
- Minimum of 8,000 hours total flight time on Multi-Crew, Multi-Engine and Commercial Airline experience on a jet with MTOW of 50,000 kg or higher.
- Minimum of 6000 hours as Pilot In-Command on A320 family aircraft.
- 3 years’ experience as an Instructor (TRI).
- Completed a flight on the A320 family within the last 12 months.
- Class one medical without any restrictions.
- ICAO English level 5 or above.
